• Howden finished fourth on the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League with 24-40—64 in 68 regular-season games in 2015-16. He added 4-11—15 in 10 postseason contests, including four consecutive multi-point performances in their first round series win over Prince Albert.

• In 2014-15, Howden finished fifth among WHL rookies with 22-24—46 in 68 regular-season games and was named his team’s Rookie of the Year and Most Sportsmanlike Player.

• Internationally, Howden captained Canada to a gold medal at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial and represented his country in back-to-back entries at the Under-18 World Championship, earning bronze in 2015.

• Howden wears uniform No. 21 for the Warriors, the same number his older brother and current Florida Panthers forward Quinton Howden donned during his five seasons with Moose Jaw. Brett was in attendance when Quinton was selected 25th overall by Florida at the 2010 NHL Draft in Los Angeles.

• He lists Avalanche forward Jarome Iginla and Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews among his favorite NHL players.
