• In 2014-15, Chlapik set Islanders franchise records for goals (33) and points (33-42—75) by a rookie to finish second on the club in points behind linemate Daniel Sprong (No. 20 NA Skater). He added nine points (1-8—9) in as many playoff games to help the Islanders win a playoff series for the first time since 2004.

• Chlapik also matched a club rookie record with five points (3-2—5) on Nov. 16 against Drummondville. Overall, his 33 goals paced all Quebec Major Junior Hockey League rookies (tied with Dennis Yan, No. 30 NA Skater) and earned him a spot on the League’s All-Rookie Team.

• Internationally, Chlapik won a silver medal with the Czech Republic at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial where he served as an assistant captain and tallied five points (1-4—5) in five games. He also won silver at the 2014 Under-18 World Junior Championship and wore the “C” at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

• Chlapik grew up idolizing former NHL goaltender and fellow countryman Tomas Vokoun, but was persuaded to play forward by his father, Milan: "I was a big fan of Vokoun and loved to watch him when I was younger, but my dad told me, 'No way. You're going to be a forward.'"

• In 2013-14, Chlapik led the Sparta Praha under-20 team with 35 points (16-19—35) in 38 games before being selected 11th overall by Charlottetown in the 2014 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
