• Konecny was named Ontario Hockey League Rookie of the Year in 2013-14 after leading all rookies in goals (26) and points (26-44—70) in 63 games. His 70 points also paced Ottawa and were the most by a 67’s rookie since 1988-89, when Jerrett DeFazio tallied 71 points.

• He was voted Best Skater and ranked second for Best Stickhandler in a poll of the OHL’s Eastern Conference coaches for the 2014-15 regular season.

• Konecny collected six points (5-1—6) in five games to captain Canada to a gold medal at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial. At the 2014 Under-18 World Junior Championship, he scored the game-winning goal with 30 seconds remaining in regulation to lift Canada over Switzerland in the quarterfinals, ultimately capturing a bronze medal. He also wore the “C” for Ontario at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

• At the 2015 CHL Top Prospects Game, Konecny collected three points (2-1—3) and a plus-3 rating for Team Orr while playing on a line with Connor McDavid (No. 1 NA Skater) and Timo Meier (No. 10 NA Skater) to capture Most Valuable Player honors.

• Konecny averaged more than two points per game in 2012-13 as captain of the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs of the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario, finishing the season with 114 points (53-61—114) in 54 games en route to being name ALLIANCE Player of the Year. Just two years earlier, his second cousin, Vancouver Canucks forward Bo Horvat, earned the same distinction.
