• In 2014-15, Novak paced the Black Hawks in assists (34) and ranked second on the club in points (14-34—48) behind Brock Boeser (No. 27 NA Skater).

• Novak led the U.S. with seven points (3-4—7) in four contests at the 2014 World Jr. A Challenge and scored the winning goal in overtime of the gold medal game against Denmark. He also won bronze with his country at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial, pacing the tournament with 11 points (5-6—11) in five games.

• Novak played three seasons of high school hockey with the St. Thomas Academy Cadets, totaling 151 points (65-86—151) in 75 career games. He led the team in goals and points in each of his last two seasons and in 2012-13 helped the club capture its third consecutive Class A title.

• Defenseman Jack Dougherty, selected in the second round (51st overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 2014 NHL Draft, was Novak’s teammate on the 2011-12 and 2012-13 squads at St. Thomas Academy.

• Novak has committed to the University of Minnesota for the fall of 2015.
