- He has three generations of NHLers in his family. His father, Greg, was a defenseman for the Washington Capitals in the 1980s, his grandfather, Ron Attwell, played for the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers in the 1960s and his great-grandfather Aubrey 'Dit' Clapper is a Hockey Hall of Famer who played for the Boston Bruins in the 1930s and '40s – Dit Clapper was the first man to play 20 seasons in the NHL and the first player for whom the Hockey Hall of Fame waived its mandatory three-year waiting period.
