• In 2012-13, his second full season with Regina, Klimchuk averaged 1.06 points per game to finish second on the team in scoring with 76 points (36-40--76) in 72 games. He tallied 38 of his points on the power play, including 24 assists which ranked fifth overall in the WHL. He was selected to play for Team Cherry at the 2013 CHL Top Prospects Game.

• At the 2013 Under-18 World Championship, Klimchuk played on Canada’s top line with Connor McDavid (2015 draft-eligible) and Sam Reinhart (2014 draft-eligible), and tied for second in team scoring with eight points (3-5--8) in seven games, helping Canada win gold. He also won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and

• At the 2012 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge, he finished second on Team Pacific with six points (2-4--6) in five games. He also represented Team Alberta at the 2011 Canada Winter Games (3-1--4 in six games).
