• In his first season with the Whalers, Hartman recorded 60 points (23-37--60) in 56 games and finished seventh overall in the OHL with 120 penalty minutes.

• He won gold with Team USA at the 2012 Under-18 World Championship and the 2013 World Junior Championship.

• A Chicago Mission minor hockey product, Hartman competed for the U.S. Under-18 National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich., in 2011-12, recording 41 points (16-25--41) in 59 games.

• He credits his parents for having the most influence on his hockey career. His mom, Kim, moved to Ann Arbor in 2010 to support him just days after being diagnosed with breast cancer: “She's been doing really well. She recovered faster than anything. . . . She's a tough lady.” His father, Craig, played collegiate soccer at the University of South Carolina.
