• Watson played 42 games with the Windsor Spitfires before a mid-season trade sent him to Peterborough. A broken ankle, suffered in January, shortened the second half of his season, but he managed to post 20 points (9-11--20) in 10 games with the Petes.

• He was selected to play for the Team USA at the 2010 Under-18 World Championships in Belarus, helping the U.S. win its second straight gold medal. He was one of only two players not originally from the U.S. National Team Development Program added to the roster -- Connor Brickley (No. 58 ranked) from the USHL was also added.

• In 2009, as a member of the Windsor Spitfires, he helped his team win both the Robertson Cup as OHL Champion and the Memorial Cup as CHL Champion.

• At the age of 12, his family moved to Florida leaving him in Michigan to continue hockey career while living with his grandparents -- Watson is the oldest of nine, soon to be 10, children; eight boys and one girl.

• His very first team was the Ann Arbor Ice Breakers and he played six years of minor hockey with Detroit Compuware.
