• In 2016-17, Luukkonen led Finland’s junior league with a 1.78 goals-against average in the regular season and 2.01 in the playoffs, backstopping HPK’s junior club to a league championship. Other notable NHL goaltenders to previously lead Finland’s junior league in goals-against average include Karri Ramo (2004-05), Joonas Korpisalo (2011-12) and Juuse Saros (2012-13).

• In 2015-16, Luukkonen led Finland’s junior league with a 1.94 goals-against average through eight postseason contests. He also appeared in 31 regular-season games for the under-18 club and was named to the league's Second All-Star Team.

• Internationally, Luukkonen backstopped Finland to a silver medal at the 2017 Under-18 World Championship. He also represented his country at the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial and the 2016 Under-18 World Championship, where he was named to the tournament All-Star Team after helping Finland win the gold medal.
