• Thrower led Saskatoon defensemen with 54 points (18-36--54) in 66 games during the 2011-12 season; he also ranked eighth among all Western Hockey League blueliners in scoring. Those numbers were nearly triple his stats from the prior season.
• In 2010-11, Thrower finished with 20 points (6-14--20) in 68 games. He posted three points (2-1--3) and had a plus-four rating in 10 playoff contests.
• Thrower began playing hockey when he was five years old – “Dad just said that he put a football and hockey stick in front of me and gave me the choice. I chose the right one.”
• He credits his parents with having the most influence on his career – “They have both been diagnosed with cancer and both have overcome it. While all this was happening, they always put us first.”
