• As the second-youngest player in the NCAA in 2015-16, Kunin tied for third in goals (19) among all freshman skaters to become the first-ever Wisconsin player on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. His 32 points were one shy of tying linemate Grant Besse (selected 147th overall by ANA in 2013) for the team lead.

• He captained the U.S. to a gold medal at the 2015 Under-18 World Championship, scoring six goals in seven games – two back of the tournament lead. He also helped his country win gold at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

• Kunin, who completed an accelerated program to graduate high school a year early, also wore the “C” for the Under-18 team during his second season with the USA National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich.

• In 2012-13, Kunin led the St. Louis AAA Blues Under-16 team in goals (30) and finished second in points (68) behind No. 2-Ranked North American Skater Matthew Tkachuk. They are two of six AAA Blues alumni on NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings for the 2016 NHL Draft.

• A Type-1 diabetic, Kunin recently met with B.J. Crombeen, who also has diabetes and played more than 400 NHL games from 2007-15. Kunin on playing with diabetes: “It’s something I’ve learned a lot from and it’s helped me grow up and mature a lot faster than most kids my age. I think it’s helped me a lot.”
