• There is no shortage of hockey lineage in the Morrow family: his father, Dave, was drafted by Vancouver in the 1977 amateur draft and by the Cincinnati Stingers in the WHA draft -- he went on to play 10 games in the World Hockey Association with the Indianapolis Racers; his brother, Josh, was drafted 203rd overall in 2002 by Nashville (a shoulder injury ended his hockey career at the junior level); and his uncle, Darrell, played four years at the University of Denver.

• Morrow is one of four Portland Winterhawks ranked by Central Scouting -- he is joined by forwards Sven Baertschi (No. 7 ranked) and Ty Rattie (No. 17 ranked) and defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon (No. 40 ranked). In 2010, eight players were drafted from Portland.
