• Smith collected 23-19—42 in 65 games with the Guelph Storm in 2015-16, ranking second in team scoring.

• After being selected 13th overall by Barrie in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, Smith posted 0-4—4 in 31 games with the Colts in 2014-15 before being acquired by Guelph. He registered 7-8—15 in the remaining 30 games of the regular season with the Storm and 2-3—5 in nine playoff contests.

• Internationally, Smith skated for Canada Red at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
