• Vande Sompel recorded 14 points (5-9—14) in 21 playoff games to help the Generals capture the Robertson Cup as Ontario Hockey League champions, en route to winning the Memorial Cup for the fifth time in franchise history.

• In the 2014-15 regular season, Vande Sompel ranked fifth among OHL defensemen with 63 points (12-51—63). His 51 assists led the Generals – tied with Michael Dal Colle (selected 5th overall by NYI in 2014) and Cole Cassels (selected 85th overall by VAN in 2013) – and powered the club to franchise records in wins (51) and points (108).

• The blueliner posted a plus-31 rating in the regular season on a Generals team that also established a club record for fewest goals against (157).

• He won gold with Canada at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial, recording two points (1-1—2) in three games before missing the final two contests due to injury. He also registered 1-1—2 with Team Ontario at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

• Vande Sompel was named to the First OHL All-Rookie Team in 2013-14 after leading Generals rookies with 20 points (5-15—20) in 47 games.

• In 2012-13, Vande Sompel collected 32 points (9-23—32) in 23 games as captain of the London Jr. Knights Minor Midget AAA team before being selected 14th overall by the Generals in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.
