• Svechnikov finished second among Quebec Major Junior Hockey League rookies with 78 points (32-46—78) in 55 games with the Screaming Eagles. That includes nine points (3-6—9) in three games from Jan. 5-11, 2015 – highlighted by back-to-back four-point performances – when he was named the Canadian Hockey League Player of the Week.

• He notched three helpers in Game 4 of Cape Breton’s opening-round playoff series against Quebec, matching a franchise record for assists by a rookie in one postseason game. He finished with seven points (1-6—7) in seven playoff games.

• In 2013-14, Svechnikov recorded 27 points (14-13—27) in 29 games to help Bars Kazan finish atop their conference in Russia’s junior league.

• He recalls winning a silver medal with Russia at the 2012 Youth Olympic Games as his most memorable hockey moment. He also won silver at the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge – where he tallied eight points (7-1—8) in six games – and twice represented Russia at the Under-18 World Junior Championship.
