• In 2008-09, he finished as the third-leading scorer in the state with career highs of 52 assists and 77 points in 27 games and was selected as a top ten finalist for the Mr. Hockey Award as well as earned first team selections to the Associated Press All-State team and the Star-Tribune’s All-Metro team.
• Mattson has committed to the University of North Dakota for the fall of 2010 and will play in the USHL for Omaha next year.
• He broke the school’s career points record of 213 in 2008-09, previously held by current Minnesota Gopher Jay Barriball (St. Louis). He finished his four-year career with 252 points (89-163-252) in 109 games.
• In his second year at Academy of Holy Angels, he totaled 49 assists (19-49-68) for 68 points in 28 games, leading the 26-1-1 Stars in scoring after surprising many by making the then, number one ranked team, the previous year as a ninth grader.
