• A center with the Quebec Remparts, Gilbert had 43 points (11-32-43) in 67 games in 2008-09.

• Gilbert credits his father and midget AAA coach, Mario Pouliot, for having had the most influence on his career and he got his start in hockey on the backyard rink at the age of four.
