• In his second season in the Western Hockey League, Elliott finished sixth in the league, and first on Saskatoon, among defensemen scoring with 55 points (16-39-55) in 71 games in 2008-09. His eight power-play goals ranked third on his team and he finished with a plus-20 rating.

• He became the first ever Saskatoon Blade to be named the WHL Scholastic Player of the Year, after maintaining a 93.3% school average in 2008-09.

• As a 16-year-old in 2007-08, Elliott finished first among rookie defensemen with nine goals and second, to fellow draft prospect Tyson Barrie, with 40 points (9-31-40) in 67 games.

• On two occasions during the 2008-09 season Elliott was a member of Team Canada’s Under-18 team. He had two assists in Canada’s gold-medal effort at the 2008 Ivan Hlinka Memorial and was a plus-five, while finishing fourth at the 2009 Under-18 World Championship.

• Elliott’s minor hockey career was highlighted with a 2006 Western Canadian Bantam championship with the North Shore Winter Club, a 2006 British Columbia minor hockey Player of the Year award and a Quebec International Peewee tournament championship.

• Credits his parents for having the most influence on his career with their support and their willingness to put him first.

• The North Shore Winter Club product started skating at the age of five and many members of his hometown team, the Vancouver Canucks, rotated as his favorite player.
