• In 2015-16, Bellows collected 50-31—81 in 62 games with the U.S. Under-18 team to finish second in team scoring behind Clayton Keller (No. 9 NA Skater). He became the fourth different player to score 50 goals in a season with the USA National Team Development Program, joining Auston Matthews (No. 1 European Skater), Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks) and Phil Kessel (Pittsburgh Penguins; 2x).

• His father is longtime NHL forward Brian Bellows, who won a Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens in 1993 and compiled 485-537—1,022 in 1,188 career regular-season games with five teams. On his dad: “He is my idol. I looked up to him when I was a kid and I still look up to him today, as both a player and a dad.”

• The championship pedigree was passed down from father to son. In 2014, Bellows scored twice in the championship game to help Edina High School secure its second straight Minnesota Class 2A state championship. The following season, he was named United States Hockey League Rookie of the Year and led the Sioux Falls Stampede to a Clark Cup title.

• Bellows also won a bronze medal with the U.S. at the 2016 Under-18 World Championship, collecting 5-3—8 in seven games.

• He has committed to Boston University for the fall of 2016, along with U.S. NTDP teammates Keller and Chad Krys (No. 53 NA Skater).
