Chicago Blackhawks captain
Jonathan Toews told reporters Friday he will not play in Saturday's regular-season finale against the
Detroit Red Wings (1 p.m. ET, NBC, TSN2).
Toews will miss his 22nd consecutive game Saturday due to a concussion. He last played Feb. 19, and the Hawks are 12-5-4 in his absence.
He did not mention his status for the start of the playoffs.
The Blackhawks go into the season's final day sixth in the Western Conference, but with a regulation win Saturday could move into fifth place by virtue of winning the season series with the Red Wings.
The Hawks also will be without forwards
Andrew Brunette and
Dave Bolland for Saturday's game.
