The
Calgary Flames will be without backup goaltender
Henrik Karlsson for 6-8 weeks due to a high-grade tear of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
Karlsson suffered the injury during Sunday's game against Vancouver when teammate
Tom Kostopoulos fell into him. Karlsson went down clutching his knee and was removed from the game.
Karlsson has played just six games
Miikka Kiprusoff's backup, going 0-4-1 with a 3.48 goals-against average and .895 save percentage.
The Flames have recalled goalie
Leland Irving from AHL Abbotsford to serve as Kiprusoff's backup.
