Auston Matthews, an A-rated skater on NHL Central Scouting's September players to watch list for the 2016 NHL Draft playing with Zurich in Switzerland's top professional league, will be out 7-10 days because of an upper-body injury.

The news was confirmed by CAA Sports Agency, Matthews' representatives. Matthews, who has been practicing with Zurich, will miss games against HC Davos on Tuesday, Kloten on Friday, and SCL on Nov. 23. He could return to the lineup against Lausanne HC on Nov. 27.

The injury, sustained Oct. 23 during a 3-1 loss against Fribourg-Gotteron, isn't serious, according to CAA Sports. Matthews' representatives and Zurich are being cautious and feel there is no need to rush the 18-year-old center back to game action until he's fully recovered.

Matthews' 10 goals lead National League A. He also has 16 points and 46 shots on goal in 14 games.
