Former Chicago Blackhawks center Antoine Vermette started his day with the Stanley Cup on Saturday by bringing hockey's biggest prize to a children's hospital in Quebec City.
In the afternoon, he was honored in his hometown of Saint-Agapit, Quebec.
After being acquired from the Arizona Coyotes before the NHL Trade Deadline, Vermette had four goals, including three game-winners, to help the Blackhawks win the Cup for the third time in six seasons. He scored the winning goal in Games 1 and 5 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Vermette signed with the Coyotes on July 1.
