CHICAGO -- Injured Chicago Blackhawks forward Daniel Carcillo might get cleared medically to play in Game 4 of their Western Conference First Round series at United Center on Tuesday (9:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN, TVA Sports 3, FS-TN, CSN-CH).

Carcillo has been out with an upper-body injury. He missed the final nine games of the regular season and the first three games of the best-of-7 series against the Nashville Predators.

After skating Sunday and Monday, Carcillo said he's close to being ready to return.

"Obviously, it was a bit of an extended layoff, so I worked out this past week and I'm feeling good," said Carcillo, who had four goals and four assists in 39 games this season. "Right now, I'm just trying to get my lungs back and feet under me and, obviously, the hands and all that stuff together."

Carcillo was a member of the Blackhawks when they won the Stanley Cup in 2013, but played four games and had one assist. He's hoping to contribute more this time if given the chance.

"That's obviously the reason we do this, right, to win?" Carcillo said. "I wasn't a huge part of it in 2013, but it was still great to be a part of it and be around the guys in that kind of atmosphere, and I'd obviously love to do it again. I know everyone in here would too. That's our goal."

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said, "We'll see," when asked Monday if any lineup changes might be in the works Tuesday. He said the same when asked if Carcillo might find his way into the lineup, but expanded on what he likes about the gritty veteran forward.

"I know the way Danny competes and the way he plays, he's got some pace to his game and I think he had some good games for us this year," Quenneville said. "We had 14 [forwards] to start with, and he can make it 15. I believe anybody can come in and play, and play meaningful minutes as well."
