Fantasy Spin: Tlusty has opportunity with Jets

Jiri Tlusty (4 percent owned in Yahoo leagues, LW) was traded to the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday and deserves a look now that he's no longer on the offensively challenged Carolina Hurricanes.

Reports are Tlusty will skate on a line with Drew Stafford and Mark Scheifele, meaning Dustin Byfuglien can again move back to his natural position of defenseman. Winnipeg is without injured forwards Mathieu Perreault and Blake Wheeler, meaning Tlusty will play in the top six, at least at the start.

Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff said Tlusty could see time on the power play, which would increase his value.

"He's got the ability to play on the power play, he can score some goals. …Tlusty is a versatile player and can play as a left or right winger," Cheveldayoff said, according to the Winnipeg Free Press.

Tlusty has 13 goals and 23 points this season, but let's not forget he scored 23 goals in 48 games two seasons ago. He had six power-play goals this season with the Hurricanes.

Tlusty is a minus-17, but that should improve; he has taken 97 shots on goal.

-- Pittsburgh Penguins forward Brandon Sutter (4 percent owned, C) scored in a 4-3 win against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday. It was his second goal in three games and he has four points in seven games.

-- New Jersey Devils forward Mike Cammalleri (38 percent owned, C, LW) had a goal in a 3-1 loss to the Calgary Flames on Wednesday; he has five goals in six games. In 13 games since the All-Star break, he has seven goals and nine points.

-- Dallas Stars forward Erik Cole (8 percent owned, LW, RW) has 18 goals and 32 points in 55 games, which surpass last season's totals (17 goals, 31 points in 75 games). Cole is a plus-4; he was a minus-17 last season. He has three goals in his past four games.

-- Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher (34 percent owned) has two two-goal games in his past three games. The recent scoring touch has coincided with his move to the top line with Max Pacioretty and David Desharnais three games ago.
