LOS ANGELES -- Frederik Andersen will start in goal for the Anaheim Ducks for Game 3 of the Western Conference Second Round series against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night at Staples Center.

Andersen led the Ducks onto the ice for warm-ups.

The change in goaltenders is somewhat surprising after Jonas Hiller re-claimed the starting job, but Anaheim is in a 2-0 series deficit and playing in a hostile road environment.

Andersen, a rookie who went 20-5-0 in the regular season, has a more substantial track record against Los Angeles this season. He is 3-0-0 with a 1.62 goals-against average and .949 save percentage against the Kings. Andersen is also 2-0 with a 1.92 goals-against average and .941 save percentage at Staples Center, where Hiller is 0-5-2 in his career.

Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau alluded to Andersen being ill late in the first-round series against the Dallas Stars. Hiller won the series-clinching Game 6 after relieving Andersen.
