Ducks goalie unknown, but Perreault, Etem return

ANAHEIM -- The identity of the Anaheim Ducks starting goaltender for Game 1 of the Western Conference Second Round against the Los Angeles Kings remains unknown. But two other pieces of their lineup became clear Friday.

Center Mathieu Perreault said he's ready for Game 1 on Saturday at Honda Center (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, TSN, RDS). Perreault missed Game 6 of the first round with a lower-body injury but has skated the past two days.

Perreault usually centers right wing Teemu Selanne and left wing Patrick Maroon on what has been an effective third line.

Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau doesn't reveal his lineup but he did let it slip that right wing Emerson Etem would be in for Game 1.

"I can't really say how I'm going to use him [in the series]," Boudreau said. "He's going to play Game 1 and we'll see how he does."

Etem played in Games 4 and 5 of the first round against the Dallas Stars and was on a line with left wing Devante Smith-Pelly and center Rickard Rakell, who was reassigned to the American Hockey League on Thursday. Etem came on strong in last season's conference quarterfinals with two goals and an assist in Games 6 and 7 against the Detroit Red Wings.

Boudreau did not say whether his starting goalie will be rookie Frederik Andersen or veteran Jonas Hiller. The coach said he won't make that decision until the morning skate Saturday.

Asked again who will start, Boudreau answered, "I didn't say. Nice try, though."
