Washington Capitals forward Dustin Penner is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and won't play Saturday against the New York Islanders, who see forward Michael Grabner return to the lineup.

The Capitals activated forward Aaron Volpatti off injured reserve to take the place of Penner, who has one goal and two assists in 14 games since being acquired from the Anaheim Ducks at the NHL Trade Deadline.

Grabner, who hasn't played since March 10 because of a concussion, will replace forward Johan Sundstrom in the lineup and skate on a line with Brock Nelson and Cal Clutterbuck.
