Left wing Thomas Vanek will be a healthy scratch for the New York Islanders on Tuesday night against the Winnipeg Jets.

The Islanders confirmed that Vanek, who is expected to be traded before the NHL Trade Deadline at 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday, won't dress. He scored two goals on Sunday in a 5-3 loss to the Florida Panthers.

The Austrian forward rejected a contract offer from the Islanders last month and will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. He has 17 goals and 44 points in 47 games with the Islanders, who acquired him from the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 27. For the season, he has 21 goals and 53 points in 60 games.

Earlier Tuesday, the Islanders traded defenseman Andrew MacDonald to the Philadelphia Flyers for two draft choices.
