Oilers claim MacIntyre off waivers from Penguins

The Edmonton Oilers on Monday claimed wing Steve MacIntyre off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The 33-year-old MacIntyre has had two previous stints with the team. He broke into the NHL with the Oilers as an undrafted free agent in 2008-09. After splitting the following season with the Oilers and Florida Panthers, he returned to Edmonton in 2010-11 and played a career-high 34 games.

MacIntyre spent the past two seasons with the Penguins, playing a total of 13 NHL games while getting into 53 American Hockey League games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

In 91 career NHL games, MacIntyre has two goals, four points and 175 penalty minutes.
