BOSTON -- Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic was a healthy scratch Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins for the first time since his rookie season of 2007-08.

Lucic, who scored 56 goals the past two seasons for Boston, has six goals in 41 games this season.

The new-look Bruins lineup without Lucic featured newcomer Carl Soderberg, who made his NHL debut after signing a three-year deal with the Bruins last week.

Soderberg was second-round draft pick of the St. Louis Blues in 2004 and the Bruins acquired his rights in a trade in 2007. He produced 60 points (31 goals) in the Swedish Elite League in 2012-13.

Boston's lines were further scrambled when the team lost forward Nathan Horton for the rest of the game after a fight with Jarome Iginla. Horton appeared to hurt his wrist during the fight and went to the dressing room.

Horton did not return for the second period and the Bruins announced he will not return.

Rookie defenseman Dougie Hamilton, who was scratched, also did not play for Boston.
