Desrosiers replaces Comrie in Top Prospects Game

The Canadian Hockey League on Monday announced that goalie Eric Comrie of the Tri-City Americans will miss the 2013 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game on Wednesday due to an undisclosed injury.

Comrie, NHL Central Scouting's No. 1-rated goalie on its preliminary list of players at his position in the Western Hockey League, will be replaced on Team Orr by Philippe Desrosiers of the Rimouski Oceanic in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The Top Prospects game is scheduled Wednesday at Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at 7 p.m. ET (NHLN-US, Sportsnet).

It marks the third player in five days to be sidelined by injury for the Top Prospects Game. Defenseman Ryan Pulock of the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings suffered a wrist injury and on Thursday was replaced by Jordan Subban of the Belleville Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League for Team Cherry. On Saturday, forward Cole Cassels of the OHL's Oshawa Generals was named a replacement on Team Cherry for William Carrier (lower body) of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Desrosiers (6-foot-1.5, 184 pounds), Central Scouting's No. 2-ranked goalie in the QMJHL, is 19-7-4 with a 2.97 goals-against average and .905 save percentage in 33 games this season, his second in Rimouski.

"He's an excellent positional style goalie," Central Scouting's Al Jensen said of Desrosiers. "He plays big and is calm, relaxed and poised. He's quiet back there, with quick feet and pads. He's got very good feet and good technical ability. He has a very good butterfly, good extension, and has excellent control and balance when moving laterally."

In 37 appearances for the Americans, Comrie (6-0.75, 167 pounds) has a 20-14-3 record with a 2.62 goals-against average and .915 save percentage. Comrie had a 10-game stretch in October where he compiled an 8-0-1-1 ledger and .939 save percentage.
