Stanley Cup visits legendary goalie shop in Ontario

There was a special piece of equipment on display at Kenesky Sports in Hamilton, Ontario on Friday.

The Stanley Cup made its fifth appearance at the goalie equipment store, this one with Chicago Blackhawks executive Mark Bernard.

"Wherever you go with the Stanley Cup, Stanley is a rock star," Bernard told CHCH. "Very, very fortunate. There's so many great people in this hockey business that we all work in, and that have never had the opportunity to win it once, and I'm just so gracious and proud that we've had the opportunity to do it three times now."

Bernard, the Blackhawks director of hockey administration and a former minor-league goalie, is from the Mount Hope community in Hamilton.

A crowd of about 400 people waited to see and take pictures with the Cup at Kenesky's, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Dave Andreychuk was the first to bring it to the store after winning it in 2004 with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Ray Emery brought it in 2013 after the Blackhawks' championship, and Bernard has brought it three times.

"[It's] something for the community, and for Hamilton to share," store owner Joel Huslman said. "... The store has been business in 100 years, and nothing's more perfect than having the Stanley Cup here."
