NEW YORK -- Left wing Tanner Glass is expected to be in the lineup when the New York Rangers play the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final on Monday at Madison Square Garden (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).

Glass missed practice Sunday and was absent from the morning skate Monday at MSG. But Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said that Glass is fine and should be ready to assume his normal fourth-line role alongside center James Sheppard and right wing J.T. Miller. Glass played 9:38 in Game 1 and had one shot on goal and five hits. He is second on the Rangers with 49 hits in 13 playoff games.

The Rangers will be looking to take a 2-0 lead in a best-or-7 series for the fifth time in 19 playoff series since 2006. That includes the 2014 Eastern Conference Final, when the Rangers went on to defeat the Montreal Canadiens in six games.

"We're playing against a real fast team, one that plays a real good system, so we'll try and execute and make the right plays with the puck when we have the puck," Vigneault said. "We're definitely going to have to defend well."

Martin St. Louis, 39, is seeking his first goal in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this spring. He has four assists in 13 games. He has never scored fewer than three goals in his previous six seasons in the playoffs; that occurred in 2006-07 with the Lightning, when he scored three in six games.

"I don't know if it's a challenge to sustain a high energy level the deeper you go into the playoffs," St. Louis said. "I know both teams are in the same place in terms of how you feel physically. There's no way you're going to feel awesome after every game but the magnitude of where you are in the playoffs really gives you extra energy and a boost."

One player pushing the offensive pace for the Rangers of late has been center Derek Stepan, who has two goals and five points during a four-game point streak.

"He is definitely one of the players in our dressing room who I ask his opinion on a number of things," Vigneault said. "He's very bright and very articulate and a good person. He knows what it takes to be successful and he wants to be successful, and he's a great read in our room on who needs help. So he's definitely a guy I can lean on."

The Rangers have won their past six games in which Stepan has a point. He is tied for the Rangers lead with five assists and nine points in 13 playoff games.

Status report: Zuccarello, who has missed the past eight playoff games after being hit in the head by a McDonagh shot during Game 5 of the Eastern Conference First Round against the Pittsburgh Penguins, skated on his own Monday. "He was just going through the process of getting healthy," Vigneault said. "He skated on his own today and I assume that will continue as we move forward."

Who's hot: Lundqvist has won his past four playoff games. He has a 1.38 goals-against average and .955 save percentage in that stretch.
