TAMPA --Montreal Canadiens center David Desharnais will join his teammates Tuesday after he missed the team's flight here Monday because of an illness, the Canadiens said.
Desharnais was scheduled to arrive late Tuesday afternoon. He will arrive after the Canadiens' practice Tuesday but is expected to participate in their morning skate Wednesday prior to Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Second Round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning (7 p.m. ET; CBC, USA, TVA Sports).
The Lightning lead the best-of-7 series 2-0.
Desharnais missed Game 2 at Bell Centre on Sunday, a 6-2 Lightning victory. He has two assists in seven games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Brian Flynn took Desharnais' spot in the lineup for Game 2.
