Montreal Canadiens center David Desharnais, who has the flu, did not travel with the team to Tampa on Monday in preparation for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Second Round against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday.
Desharnais was a late scratch in a Game 2 loss on Sunday because of the illness and was replaced in the lineup by Brian Flynn.
Desharnais is day-to-day. If he feels better on Tuesday, it's possible he could rejoin the team. Desharnais has two assists and has averaged 16:39 of ice time in seven games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Canadiens trail the best-of-7 series 2-0 after a 6-2 loss Sunday in Game 2.
