U.S. top Finland in Four Nations tourney

Jack Eichel capped a three-point night Saturday with a goal in overtime to help the United States defeat Finland 4-3 in the Four Nations Tournament in Turku, Finland.

Eichel, a prospect for the 2015 NHL Draft who is committed to play at Boston University next season, scored 2:34 into the extra session to help the Americans to their first win in the competition after a 3-2 loss Friday to Sweden.

Sonny Milano, one of the top American-born players eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft, set up Eichel's overtime score and had a goal of his own 1:25 into the first period to give the United States an early lead. Milano, who was one of three "A" rated skaters from the United States Hockey League in NHL Central Scouting's preseason rankings, has two goals and 11 points in seven USHL games this season while playing for the United States National Team Development Program's entry in the league.

Alex Tuch, who plays with Milano and Eichel for the USNTDP U-18 team and is committed to Boston College for next season, had a goal, an assist and was named the team's best player for the game.

Goaltender Eric Schierhorn, who plays for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL, made 22 saves in the victory for the Americans. The United States finishes the tournament Sunday with a game against Switzerland.
