It took Kimmo Timonen 16 seasons before he won the Stanley Cup, but the since-retired Chicago Blackhawks defenseman spent his day with the Cup on Tuesday.

Timonen, 40, missed most of last season with blood clots and wasn't sure if he'd get to play again. He was traded from the Philadelphia Flyers to the Blackhawks in February and played in 16 regular-season games and 18 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

The Stanley Cup arrived Monday in Finland, where Chicago Blackhawks forward Teuvo Teravainen celebrated with his family.

Shortly after arriving, Teravainen took a boat ride to Sauna Island in Helsinki.

Teravainen had four goals and nine points in 34 regular-season games and four goals and 10 points in 18 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

The Stanley Cup went through customs in Chicago on Sunday before heading to Finland.

The Cup was on display at the Chicago Blackhawks' annual fan convention over the weekend.

Three Finnish members of Chicago's 2015 Stanley Cup championship team will get to share the Cup with family, friends and fans this week.

Teuvo Teravainen will have the Cup Monday, followed by Kimmo Timonen on Tuesday and Antti Raanta on Thursday.

Chicago Blackhawks goaltending coach Jimmy Waite started his day with the Stanley Cup by bringing it to a hospital in his hometown of Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Waite posed for pictures and signed autographs for children.

Waite, who was selected by the Blackhawks in the first round (No. 8) of the 1987 NHL Draft and played with them for eight seasons, finished his first season as goaltending coach with Chicago. Under his guidance, the Blackhawks tied for the League lead in fewest goals allowed (189) last season, and Corey Crawford (along with Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens) won the Jennings Trophy.

Corey Crawford took the Stanley Cup home to Chateauguay, Quebec, on Sunday for the second time in his NHL career.

The 30-year-old Chicago Blackhawks goalie had the Cup outside his alma mater, Howard S. Billings Regional High School, for about three hours, posing for pictures with residents of the Montreal suburb next to the iconic championship trophy.

"I'm really proud to be from Chateauguay," Crawford told the crowd. "I've met a lot of great people over the years. A lot of people have helped me out through my career. I just want to say thank you and I really appreciate it."

Crawford was 13-6-1 with a 2.31 goals-against average, a .924 save percentage and two shutouts in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs to help Chicago win its third championship in six seasons.

Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews took the Stanley Cup to his hometown of Winnipeg on Friday for the third time.

Toews surprised kids at the Rehabilitation Centre for Children by playing street hockey with them in the morning before bringing the Cup inside and posing for pictures.

Chicago Blackhawks assistant coach Mike Kitchen took the Stanley Cup to the pediatric unit at South Lake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario, on Wednesday.

Patients and doctors posed for pictures with the Cup.

Kitchen then went on a helicopter ride around Ontario with the Cup.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Desjardins spent part of his second day with the Stanley Cup fulfilling a promise.

After the Blackhawks won the Cup, he said the first thing he would eat out of it would be Lucky Charms cereal. Mission accomplished.

Desjardins filled the Cup with the cereal and milk and had quite the breakfast on Tuesday in Ontario.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw spent Saturday morning on a lake with the Stanley Cup in his hometown of Belleville, Ontario, before bringing the Cup into town for fans to see.

In the afternoon, Shaw brought the Cup to the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, where hundreds of people showed up for pictures with Shaw and the Cup. A line formed hours before the Cup was scheduled to be there.
