Prized Minnesota Wild prospect Jason Zucker
has been named to the 2013 American Hockey League Western Conference All-Star Team. The 2013 Dunkin’ Donuts AHL All Star Classic runs from Jan. 27 - Jan. 28 in Providence, RI.
The Las Vegas, Nev., resident leads the Houston Aeros in goals (16) goals and points (33) in 34 games. The rookie winger is tied for the AHL lead in power-play goals (9) and tied for second in game-winning goals (5). He is third among AHL rookies in goals and second among all AHL rookies in points.
The Wild the selected Zucker in the second round (59th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He celebrated his 21st birthday yesterday at the Wild’s Intra-Squad Training Camp Scrimmage at Xcel Energy Center.
Zucker joined the Wild at the end of last season, totaling two assists in six games. Prior to turning pro, he was a standout at the University of Denver for two seasons, scoring 45 goals and 46 assists in 78 games.
