Minnesota Wild prospect Jason Zucker was selected as the Hockey Commissioners' Association National Rookie of the Month for February. The freshman at Denver University led all NCAA rookies with 12 points on three goals and nine assists and a +7 rating. He tallied at least one point in every game, including four multi-point game and one two-goal game. The Pioneers were 4-4-0 in the month.

Minnesota's second round selection (59th overall) in last year's draft leads the WCHA in scoring with 36 points and is tied for first with 20 goals. His goal total is tied for second among all NCAA rookies. The 5-foot-11, 180 pound Las Vegas native is riding a nine-game point streak with four goals and 10 assists in that span.

Denver is currently second in the WCHA standings and will play its final regular season series this weekend against St. Cloud. Next week, the Pioneers will host a playoff series in an attempt to reach the Final Five at Xcel Energy Center beginning March 17.
