Saint Paul, Minn. and Chicago, Ill. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild today announced a new multi-year partnership with Levy Restaurants, the leader in premium sports and entertainment dining, for food and hospitality at the Xcel Energy Center. Levy will manage general concessions in addition to the Iron Range Grill. Guests at the arena will get their first taste of Levy at the No Doubt concert July 5, 2009. Locally based Wildside Caterers will continue to serve the Headwaters Bar and Restaurant and suites in the facility.

“We are excited about the enhancements Levy will bring to our food and beverage offerings,” said Jack Larson, Vice President and General Manager for Xcel Energy Center. “We strive to provide the best experience possible for our guests, and we are proud to have Levy as our new concessionaire.”

Chicago-based Levy Restaurants is a James Beard and Ivy Award-winning restaurant company that has transformed dining and hospitality at major sporting and entertainment venues across the country. Levy was recently named one of the top 10 most innovative companies in sports by Fast Company magazine.

To complement the Minnesota Wild’s popular “State of Hockey” theme that has captured the community, Levy will introduce a “Taste of Hockey” experience that brings the same excitement to food and hospitality. Menu enhancements, signature items, new digital menu signage and an increased focus on the details are some of the changes fans will see to the food experience during the upcoming season.

“We share a unique kinship with the Wild and the Xcel Energy Center,” said Andy Lansing, Levy Restaurants president and CEO. “By connecting our mindsets, we will elevate the already incredible fan experience and build on the great traditions in place.”

"We would like to thank Centerplate for the great service they provided our fans since the opening of the Xcel Energy Center in 2000,” said Jeff Pellegrom, Minnesota Wild Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. “We look forward to a new era of concessions and fan amenities at Xcel Energy Center with Levy Restaurants.”

Centerplate will continue to provide concessions for the Saint Paul RiverCentre complex and The Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium.
