Wild's Best Of The Web - Nov. 6

by Kelly Erickson / Minnesota Wild

It’s not always easy staying tuned in to all things Wild online. Whether it’s a story or a funny Tweet, we’ve got you covered with the best links from around the web.

If you've ever traveled to a foreign country without knowing the language, getting around can be tough. Now imagine moving there. Managing Editor Mike Doyle caught up with Jonas Brodin and Mikael Granlund who are comfortably settling into an American lifestyle, on top of flourishing on the ice.

Read all about their move to America here.

Sometimes being in the right place at the right time pays off. That just happened to be the case for Jason Zucker and an extremely fortunate Iowa Wild Vine.

Props to the Iowa Wild for capturing the moment. When it comes to capturing those moments, Vining is one of the hardest ways to do it with just six seconds of video.

Despite the beautiful Vine, the iWild fell 5-2 Sunday to the Milwaukee Admirals.

The Wild's second line of Jason Pominville, Mikael Granlund and Nino Niederreiter has been unstoppable. The line's ability to score has left the State of Hockey in search of a nickname for the trio.

Sunday night, @mnwild and @mnwildLIVE seemed to come up with a solution, for now. It even made it's way onto NHL Live.

Though Tuesday, the Star Tribune's Michael Russo retweeted this photo, highlighting just the dynamic duo of Pominville and Granlund. It doesn't get much better than that.

This Tweet was featured in last week’s Tweets Of The Week, but it’s so good that we can’t help but feature it again.

Last week some Wild skaters dressed up for Halloween, which led to this wonderful photo.

We’ll leave deciding who gets to be Maverick, Goose and Iceman up to them.

Last week KARE 11’s Erik Perkins sat down with the Wild’s own Mikko Koivu, as well as the Twins’ Joe Mauer, the Vikings’ Adrian Peterson and the Timberwolves’ Kevin Love for one monster interview.

That’s a lot of talent in one room.

The interview, which lasted around an hour, allowed the quartet to meet one another for the first time. Not only did they field questions from Perkins and one another, Koivu also rocked some sweet elbow pads that helps show off just how stylish the Captain is.

Last Friday the Wild kicked off Movember. While some of the Wild players were a little confused that it was time to shave off the scruff and grow out their Mo’s for the month — we’ll let it slide this time, they had a game — some of the media members participated in a Shave Off prior to the Wild’s tilt with Montreal Nov. 1.

We’ll be tracking both their progress and the Wild’s throughout Movember. Though in Week 1’s gallery, we’re not entirely sure why no one smiled.

Last week Head Coach Mike Yeo tried to mix things up, looking for a bit of new chemistry amongst his forward lines. But those lines kept mixing throughout practice, leaving the media a little lost. Managing Editor Mike Doyle caught some of the mess in the day’s Lighthouse post.

The best part about it: those lines lasted less than a game as Yeo continued to tinker with them throughout Friday’s matchup with Montreal.

Mikael Granlund, Nino Niederreiter and Charlie Coyle weren’t the only ones to celebrate Halloween.

The Star Tribune’s Michael Russo got in on the festivities and also shared his costume via Twitter. The getup even got a comment from Yeo, who chirped Russo about it in a post-game press conference.

Let be the first to tell you that, unfortunately, the pressbox is not filled with media dressed like that.
