Wild Warmup: Minnesota vs. Buffalo at Penn State

Wild opens preseason play against the Sabres tonight in State College, Penn.

Check back throughout the day as the Wild preps for its first preseason clash of 2016-17.

The Wild has touched down in State College, Penn., and, after a short bus ride to Penn State University, is prepping for its inaugural preseason clash of 2016.

The matchup is at 6 p.m. against the Buffalo Sabres. The setting is 5,782-seat Pegula Ice Arena, home of the Penn State Nittany Lions. The lineup is a mix of veterans youthful exuberance. Tonight's lines, defensive pairings and starting goaltenders are as follows:

Earlier Monday, World Cup of Hockey Team USA players Zach Parise and Ryan Suter and Finnish trio Mikko Koivu, Mikael Granlund and Erik Haula commenced training camp with their Wild teammates. The room was a spirited one after their first official practice with coach Bruce Boudreau.

"Great vibes in the room and a great practice," Parise said after the team's morning workout at Xcel Energy Center. "I'm looking forward to playing for [this coaching staff.]"

Still waiting on Nino Niederreiter, whose Team Europe squad defeated Sweden on Sunday and will face Canada in the World Cup finals.
