| Marian Gaborik and the Wild will face the Stars on national television to close out the season this Saturday. |
The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild will make its first ever appearance on NBC (KARE 11 locally) Saturday when the team faces off with the Dallas Stars at 1:00 PM (CST) at American Airlines Center. The game will also be the first-ever regular season national network broadcast for the Wild.
Saturday’s game – the season finale for Minnesota – will feature the broadcast team of Chris Cuthbert (play-by-play), Peter McNab (color commentary) and Cammi Granato (rinkside reporting). It’s the last of six Saturdays this season in which the league’s exclusive network broadcast home will televise an NHL game, and the final appearance on NBC by the NHL until the Stanley Cup Finals.
The match-up with the Stars is also the last of seven national television appearances this season for the Wild, six of which were on OLN, the exclusive cable home of the NHL. In all, a team-record 78 Wild games will be televised this season, including 71 televised locally on FSN North, KSTC.TV and 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.
Saturday’s game can also be heard on WCCO 830 AM, via the Internet at and across the Minnesota Wild Radio Network.
