Wild To Host National Anthem Auditions

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild
The Minnesota Wild announced today that the team will be hosting auditions for the opportunity to be the primary national anthem singer at all Minnesota Wild home games.  The winner of the contest will perform at the majority, if not all, Wild home games.

The Wild will be accepting audition materials from Monday, July 30 to Sunday, Aug. 19.  Interested singers must send either a DVD or a CD and a photo to:

Minnesota Wild
Attn:  National Anthem Auditions

St. Paul, MN  55102

The team will review submitted audition materials and invite 12 candidates to participate in the first round of live auditions at Xcel Energy Center on Monday, Aug. 27.  Five finalists will be invited back for a second round of live auditions at Xcel Energy Center on Monday, Sept. 10.  Judges for the second round of live auditions will include Wild coaches Jacques Lemaire, Mike Ramsey and Mario Tremblay, WCCO Radio’s Jearlyn Steele, FSN North’s Anthony LaPanta and 5 Eyewitness News’ Vineeta Sawkar.  Following the second round of live auditions, three finalists will be given an opportunity to sing the national anthem live at one of the Wild’s three preseason home games this September.

Each of the three finalists will have their preseason anthem performance posted on so fans can vote for their favorite singer.  The winner will be announced on Wednesday, Oct. 3 on WCCO Radio’s Morning Show with Dave Lee and on 5 Eyewitness News Morning News.

Anthem singers are required to sing both the American and Canadian national anthems for this paid position.
