Wild to hold State of Hockey celebration

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced today that the team will host a State of Hockey Celebration in the Mall of America Sears Court on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. to help commemorate the start of the 2009-10 NHL season. Players to appear are Natalie Darwitz, Jessie Vetter and Jinelle Zaugg-Siergiej from the US Women's National team and Cal Clutterbuck and James Sheppard will represent the Minnesota Wild.


The State of Hockey Celebration at Mall of America will include interactive hockey games, prize giveaways, historical displays, a chance to win player autographed jerseys and watch Wild highlights on a Sony TV. Hockey players from the United States Women’s Hockey Team, the University of Minnesota men and the Wild will also make appearances, participate in a question and answer session with Wild broadcasters Mike Greenlay, Dan Terhaar and Kevin Falness and sign autographs at the event. Players participating in the autograph sessions will be announced at a later date.

Levy Restaurants, the new concessionaire at Xcel Energy Center, will showcase one of their new items on their Taste of Hockey menu.  Free Smores Dippers will be distributed to fans beginning at 5 p.m.

*For Wild player autographs fans will be able to get a number from the Wild table starting at 3:00 p.m. The first 300 people to receive a number will receive an autograph.
