Wild Teams With Teammates for Kids

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild

This jersey, along with every other Wild sweater worn on January 6, will be available for auction on NHL.com and NHLPA.com.
Each player on the Minnesota Wild will be sporting a special patch on their sweaters during Saturday night’s game at the Xcel Energy Center. The Wild, and the other 29 NHL teams are working together to help kids in need through the 2007 Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Patch program. Each NHL team will wear the commemorative patch for one home game this season. Following the game, each player will donate his jersey to the 2007 Teammates for Kids On-Line Auction, with proceeds benefiting the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation.

As a result of every player’s involvement, the NHL becomes the first professional sports league to achieve 100% athlete participation in the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation as the official children’s charity of the NHL and NHLPA. More than 600 game-worn jerseys will be available for bidding at NHL.com and NHLPA.com.

In November of 2005, the NHLPA and NHL jointly selected the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation as the official children’s charity of the NHL and NHLPA. Since its inception, NHL players have donated more than $1.5 million.
