ST. PAUL -- Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed goaltender Hunter Jones to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Jones, 19, went 31-14-3 with a 2.75 goals-against average (GAA), a .913 save percentage (SV%) and four shutouts in 49 games with the Peterborough Petes in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this season. The 6-foot-4, 202-pound native of Brantford, Ont., ranked second in the OHL in shutouts, fourth in wins and GAA and fifth in SV%. Jones stopped 97 of 99 shots faced in his last three starts. He was named the OHL Goaltender of the Month for October and played for Team OHL in the 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series.
Jones posted a record of 28-24-4 with a 3.31 GAA, a .902 SV% and three shutouts in 57 games with Peterborough in 2018-19. He ranked T-2nd in the OHL in games played, T-6th in shutouts and T-9th in wins. Jones owns a career record of 62-47-7 with a 3.31 GAA, a .901 SV% and seven shutouts in 121 games during three seasons with Peterborough. He was selected by Minnesota in the second round (59th overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
