The Minnesota Wild organizational roster just got bigger by six feet, seven inches and 255 pounds. The Wild announced on Sunday that the club has signed defenseman John Scott to a contract. The giant blueliner is currently skating for the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League in his first professional season. He’s posted one assist in 20 games thus far this season.
The 24-year-old from St. Catharine’s, Ontario, played four years at Michigan Tech, where he piled up 201 penalty minutes during his sophomore and junior seasons. He finished his career with 18 points and 347 penalty minutes in four years with the Huskies.
Scott will remain with the Aeros.
