Wild Recalls Zucker

The Wild has recalled foward Jason Zucker from the Houston Aeros, the club's American Hockey League affiliate.

Zucker leads the Aeros with 24 goals, ranks tied for first on the team with 50 points (24-26=50) in 55 games. The 21-year-old was named to the 2012-13 AHL All-Rookie Team on Wednesday. He ranks tied for first in the AHL with eight game-winning goals, tied for fourth with 12 power-play goals and 10th with 206 shots on goal. Zucker ranks tied for second in scoring and third in goals amongst AHL rookies. He totaled five points (4-1=5) and was a plus-five in 14 games with the Minnesota Wild this season. Zucker scored his first NHL goal in his season debut Feb. 17 versus Detroit. The 5-foot-11, 186-pound forward was born in Newport Beach, Calif., and raised in Las Vegas, Nev.

The speedy winger recorded two assists in six games with the Wild last season after signing an entry-level contract on March 27, 2012. He made his NHL debut on March 29 against Florida. Zucker collected 46 points (22-24=46) in 38 games during his sophomore campaign at the University of Denver last season. He also served as team captain for Team USA at the 2012 World Junior Championship and tallied seven points (3-4=7) in six games. He was selected by Minnesota in the second-round (No. 59) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and wears sweater No. 16 with the Wild.

The Wild hosts the Columbus Blue Jackets at Xcel Energy Center at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3FM.
